Well winter is in full swing and we have had some amazing days sledding and skiing in the backcountry. I spent New Year’s Eve guiding up the Hurley Pass with Ray and Totally Awesome Adventures.

Ray Mason is the guide of choice in the Sea 2 Sky Backcounty. He has been running Totally Awesome Adventures for 7 years and with him becoming more and more busy he asked me if I would tail guide one of his groups.

I instantly jumped at the chance as Ray is a great guy and it was my time to learn the amazing areas north of Pemberton, BC.

Our day started out at Ray’s house where our group of 8 from the United States geared up with packs, Avy gear and excitment for their awesome day out. Over 10 cm’s of snow had fallen overnight which made for perfect conditions.

Once on our way we hit the open meadows at the top of the Hurley Pass, so our guest could play in the powder. After a few stuck’s we moved on up to Hope Creek, an amazing play area!

It was then back on the road to the old revitalized town of Bralorne and the MineShaft Pub. This quaint little town is a mecca for sled heads and sled skiers alike due to its amazing local terrain.

After an incredible lunch it was time to hit the road back to Pemberton to celebrate the New Year. If your ever in need of sled rentals ( he rents Ski-Doo Rev and Rev XP’s ) and an awesome guide give Ray a call at Ray@TotallyAwesomeAdventures.com !
